Hey all! Had a great couple of weeks, was lucky enough to get a wee job dong a shoot in my home town of Edinburgh for Scottish Field magazine. This is what else I’ve been up to…
Stopped off in Glasgow to get a great Fake Bake from Victoria at Fake Bake Beauty Boutique, 130 West Regents Street. Had a good old giggle and got a few lovely products. Left feeling bronzed and happy, ready for my Edinburgh shoot.
THE SCOTMAN HOTEL AND SPA
I stayed at The Scotsman Hotel on the North Bridge in Edinburgh, a totally gorgeous hotel in the centre of Edinburgh. Have stayed there a few times and can never fault it. The staff were amazing and my room had views to die for. Had a lovely massage in the spa and the pool is utterly gorgeous; no bright lighting just wee spotlights in and around the pool. So chilled.
21ST CENTURY KILTS
My gorgeous friends own 21st century kilts, 48 Thistle Street, Edinburgh. They made me a lovely wee kilt last time I visited which I brought for my shoot. They do Bespoke off-the-peg designer kilts made from Tartan and contemporary textiles. They have dressed so many famous faces from Richard Branson to Vin Diesel to name but a few. Check them out!
WE ARE RUSHWORTH
I met up with the creator of We Are Rushworth while at home. Her company creates the most wonderful designer knitwear, for children and adults, all designed in Scotland. I was lucky enough to be given a gorgeous woollen dress, hats and a scarf. And I tell you what, I blooming love them whilst I’m at home, so cosy and soft.
THE WITCHERY BY THE CASTLE
Made a visit to the Witchery as it is one of the most beautiful dining places I have ever been. They have stunning bedrooms that make you feel like you have moved into a castle. I had my wedding lunch there. Great lunch, even though the marriage didn’t last!!
One of the places I love going to in Edinburgh is Gordons Trattoria, 231 High Street, The Royal Mile. My friend Gordon and his family own the restaurant and you can always be guaranteed the warmest welcome, the best service and I even got my pizza cut into a heart shape!
KAREN BETTS PERMANENT MAKE UP
Once I returned to London, I paid a visit to Karen Betts at No. 1 Harley Street. Since losing my hair to alopecia, I also have unpredictable eyebrows and Karen offers a microblading service. It’s a tool where Karen draws tiny hairstrokes by hand to create the most natural looking eyebrows. We spent a while having a consultation to make sure we got the colour and style totally perfect. I was a bit nervous but the results were outstanding. My friends couldn’t believe how natural they look and my friends don’t hold back! Find out more about Karen on her website.
THE INTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL AT THE O2 and BASTILLE
I was invited to see Bastille at the O2 last week. To be honest, I didn’t know much about them but my gorgeous friend invited me so we could have nothing but fun. Before the gig we were invited for dinner at the Intercontinental Hotel. Wow. What an impressive hotel, Stunning views, amazing food, great staff. We also had a wee tour round some of the hotel, it was stunning. The Bastille gig was also totally brilliant. I danced like an embarrassing mum all night!
Also I must add that I met this little guy on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh outside Gladstones Land! A National Trust treasure.
Time for a couple of days chilling before back to running, yoga , fitness, beauty and Christmas ideas in the next few blogs.
Have fun and don’t do anything I wouldn’t! Until next time,
