Healthy skin, nails and bones! Introducing Ailixir Collagen

September 14, 2018

Hello my lovelies, it’s me again with another blog post!

As the days are getting shorter, darker (and colder!!) I’ve been giving by body a bit of TLC to counteract the dreaded winter weather. I’m still keeping up with my gym sessions and my trusty bike has me getting from A to B but I’m trying to keep myself as healthy as possible and as a result I’ve ventured into the world of supplements.

The newest addition to my vitamin and supplement list is Collagen. I’ve been trying out a form of collagen to help with my bone-strength and as an added bonus it’s helped my skin and nails.

Ailixir is the name of the brand I’ve been using and they give my body a boost of collagen. Whilst we all know that collagen is something your body makes itself, we also know that once you get to a certain age it doesn’t produce as much! So the fact that I can take this wonder supplement everyday with the promise of supple skin, strong nails and bones is ideal.

Ailixir Collagen

I’ve been taking this liquid form of Ailixir collagen for a few weeks now. It has a nice berry taste that I dilute down with some water or if I’m feeling brave I’ll take a quick gulp before heading to bed. I take 25ml (just over a a tablespoons worth!) before brushing my teeth each night so I’m much less likely to forget to take this over a tablet supplement! It’s an all-in-one that has not only made my skin glow and my nails strong and healthy it’s reassuring to know that my bones are being taken care of at the same time – what a bonus eh? I’ve been brushing up on my knowledge ever since and collagen plays an important part in re-building joint-cartilage so I don’t need to worry about achy bones and injuries when hitting the gym!

The drink itself is 100% natural flavour and colour – so no nasties.  It’s also non-GMO and free from wheat, gluten, soya, egg, nuts and milk so there’s no worries if you have any allergies.

If you don’t fancy the berry flavoured collagen there’s also a powdered version that you can mix in with water, juice or a smoothie – it’s the exact same thing as the liquid.

What supplements do you take to keep your body in tip-top condition? Let me know, I’d love to hear!

Love, Gail x
