Eyebrows don’t seem like a defining part of your face until they’re not there. I have Alopecia which means I don’t have any natural eyebrows and finding a solution for this was something I wanted to explore. As I approach 50, I wanted to try something different in terms of my appearance. Microblading seemed like a route that I wanted to go down. Sian Dellar offer a microblading treatment to create the appearance of fine, hair-like strokes. This seemed like something I wanted to give a go to change up my appearance. As part of Alopecia Awareness month I wanted to share my experience of microblading with Sian Dellar and make people aware of a treatment that may be perfect for them.
Alopecia Universalis means having no hair anywhere on your body which for some people can have a really big impact on your confidence. I didn’t just have to think about the hair on my head but also everywhere else. Having had an eyebrow microblading treatment which I was really pleased with before, I wanted to give it another go because I was really happy with the change that it made to my appearance.
I went to Sian Dellar for my treatment because I’d heard such good things from others’ experiences at her clinic. The before and after pictures that I had seen on her Instagram looked amazing and I could really see that each treatment was tailored to the individual. I think that creating individual results is so important because everyone has a look in mind that will make them feel confident. The results vary from subtle to a more dramatic look.
Sian was so understanding in that I wanted a particular look because going from having no eyebrows to a natural eyebrow look was quite a big change for me. I felt so comfortable and was reassured throughout the whole process, it was a relaxing and a no-pressure experience in which I always felt at ease.
I was so excited to see the results as I felt like it was time for a change in my appearance. I wanted a new little boost of confidence and that’s exactly what I got.
Microblading involves a thin blade which deposits pigment to create the appearance of hair strokes. It looks super natural and realistic and the pigments are tailored to complement your skin tone, eye and hair colour. Sian told me that the results can last between twelve and eighteen months so they’re really long-lasting. She also recommends having a touch-up after twelve months to retain the shape and colour. I love how long-lasting they are because now I don’t need to worry about my brows for a whole year!
I was so pleased with my overall experience at Sian Dellar’s Harley Street clinic and I really wanted to share my results with you all because I would 100% recommend the treatment. Whether you don’t have eyebrows due to Alopecia or you just want to fill in your natural brow giving it a fuller look, it’s a super easy treatment to have that will save so much time in the future. What’s not to love about an extra 5 minutes in bed every morning saving time on your brows!
