A beautiful list of the most exquisite candles on the market, not the normal bunch but something for someone looking for more unique products. Enjoy!
These candles are perfect old school apothecary-style, all handmade right here in England. The Eucalyptus scent is really nostalgic, and lovely to burn to clear the air when you’re feeling a little under the weather. There are also 22 other fragrances to choose from.
‘These candles are the perfect present for teachers or for a dinner party host or just a gift to yourself! With a burn time of around 15 hours our 90ml scented soy candles are presented in an elegant yet simple brown card gift box’. (£5.95 each from Parkminster)
This brand is a new favourite find of mine, I LOVE the brown glass packaging and chic labelling. Sun.Day says that ‘Our candles are lovingly made and crafted to create moments of emotion’. The smells are divine and they burn for ages.
A couple of fragrances that caught my eye (or nose should I say!) were the Riad – which has a gorgeous ethereal scent which “captures the exotic spirit of North Africa and its vivid natural beauty” and Rooftop Garden, which is inspired by their ‘very own garden in the sky, our mini rooftop overlooking the skyline of London. It’s a little piece of calm and tranquillity amid the commotion of the city, where we grow lavender, thyme and basil and jasmine’. Beautiful! (Both £26 for 180ml)
Soy & Joy
If you’re growing tired of ultra grown-up candles and would like something a little less serious, Soy & Joy are the brand to look into. Their slogan candles are fun, yet still use high-quality ingredients and smell incredible. Personal favourites include their ‘You have the same number of hours in a day as Beyonce‘ and ‘Eat Pray Slay‘ designs. What’s more is you can even choose which scent you’d like for your slogan candle; Thai Lime and Mango, Egyptian Amber, Pomegranate or Fresh Linen. (From Soy & Joy)
If you love colourful home accessories, why not have them in the form of fabulous candles? Wax Lyrical have a gorgeous collection by Yvonne Ellen, who is known for her homeware designs. I think they’re the perfect ‘coffee table candles’. I love the Exotic Fig – ‘featuring scents of juicy figs blended with green apple, layered upon petals of jasmine, quince and sandalwood, and closed with raspberry, rich tonka bean and patchouli, this exotic scent will provide your home with a fruity revival‘.
And the Vintage Palm – ‘The stunning scent boasts a medley of fresh white cotton refreshed with a citrus blend of bergamot, lemon and lime, supported by lavandin sprigs, muguet and warmed with grated nutmeg, with a base of cedarwood, musk, patchouli, vanilla and moss. Enjoy with long soaks in the bath whilst dreaming of your next summer holiday escape‘. (Both £23.99 from Wax Lyrical)
This all natural candle is made up of the finest organic ingredients, it smells amazing and gives the most relaxing vibe in the room, I especially love lighting it an hour before I have guests round. One of my favourite fragrances is Bergamot and Clary sage which can be found on GiftPup. It’s ingredients is a combination of ylang ylang, bergamot, ho wood oil and clary sage.
The best part of buying this candle from GiftPup is the added element of personalisation,‘You can make this even more special by adding a personalised message to the copper lid, a gift for her she will surely love!’. (£32.99 from GiftPup). A definite to add to the Christmas list!
A candle really transforms any space into something cosy and homely, a special little luxury I can’t live without!
